Dear friends and colleagues;

I consider myself blessed by the Angels because of the faith my 10 lakh friends have reposed in me by electing me as President of FAM. Today, I feel proud to say that FAM is perhaps the world’s largest Association of Associations. 750 trade and business Associations have pooled their energies into the creation of FAM and this energy is bound to do good to the community if we focus it in the right direction. All of us have achieved a certain measure of personal and business success in life and now it is our turn to do good to the community which has given us so much. Only then can we reach our state of nirvana.

In the past our members have come together to fight battles like Octroi Abolition with the government. The battles will continue, but I will spend more time in chintan, to bring all the members together as a single united force. I will leave no stone unturned to promote the interests of the business community. I will not make empty speeches or promises, but show you results at ground level. My agenda to make FAM a dynamic and vibrant organization is as follows:

•  I am relaunching the FAM website to make it the most powerful medium for vartalaap and chintan. Members can put up their points, suggestions and grievances by the click of a mouse. The website will be our connection with one another round the clock round the year.

• I am getting FAM office certified to ISO 9001 system so that our office team becomes more responsive and accountable to all those whom it is serving. I do not wish my team to be a bureaucratic team, but an extremely customer-oriented team. Our primary beneficiaries and customers are our esteemed members and we exist to serve them to the best of our ability.

•  I promise that I shall remain accessible to all of you through various media like What’s App, website and letters. I announce here today that I shall follow an open-door policy by which I shall remain accessible to all of you.
• We are planning to launch a quarterly magazine of the Association which will strengthen our internal communication and exchange of thoughts. Eventually this magazine has the potential of becoming a monthly magazine if you all cooperate.

• And here comes the most important announcement. On the  November this year, we are planning a mega-conference titled “Samvaad Mega-business Conference 2016” which is expected to be addressed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Chief Minister and other VVIPs. That will be our greatest day when we can show our unity and strength to top policy-makers.

Such mega-conferences will be held once a year in different cities in future.

In the coming days I plan to address groups of business community in other towns too. United we stand friends. Always remember. Let us pledge to make Maharashtra a super-industrial state. Sabka saath, sabka vikaas.

Friends, most of us in FAM are self-made individuals. We have the potential to progress further to unprecedented heights . When properly nurtured and fertilized, the seeds in us can sprout to create a forests of new products, services and industries that will not only change the socio-economic landscape of this great state, but also provide food and sustenance to several million unemployed youth.

You can rest assured that my first task will be to ensure that governments give all my members fair and just treatment. We will continue our battles against Draconian and oppressive laws in a democratic and peaceful manner. Considering our moral and social responsibility, we will also support governments in their genuine efforts towards nation-building.
